Emma Pooley, Kathryn Bertine, Marianne Vos and Chrissie Wellington are championing a campaign to allow pro female cyclists to race the Tour de France. In its 100 year history it has always been an exclusively male race, albeit with a brief, separate, Tour de Feminin in the 1980′s. It’s time to level out the playing field.
This amazing group of pro female cyclists are not asking for women to race against men, but to have their own field in the same race, over the same distance and on the same days. If you want to promote women’s road cycling and believe that pro female cyclists should be able to compete in the Tour de France then you can get involved and do your bit to make a difference.
Sign the petition to Christian Prudhomme, general director of the Tour de France, and follow the Tour de Entier campaign on twitter. Time for equality in road cycling and beyond!
